Genomcore, technology partner for Girostudi, the largest digital cohort in Europe
Genomcore is the technology lead for Girostudi, a public health innovation project that will analyze the health of 4,000 people from 18 municipalities in the province of Girona over 10 years.
In January, Girostudi was launched, a public health innovation project led by the Diputació de Girona and the Generalitat de Catalunya. Girostudi will analyze the health of 4,000 people from 18 municipalities in the province of Girona over 10 years to adapt its health policies, positioning itself as the most novel digital cohort in the European landscape.
Genomcore is the technology lead for this digital cohort. Through Genomcore BIMS, with a clear focus on leadership in personalized medicine, it will manage health data, lifestyle questionnaires, and other types of real-world data, with a global vision that will help improve public policies, drive research, and promote more sustainable and equitable development.
Over the course of a decade, the social, environmental, and health factors that determine the well-being of the population in the selected municipalities will be studied. This is a public health project that places Girona at the forefront of Health Promotion and focuses on anticipating inequalities, evaluating the impact of social and environmental determinants, and designing policies that improve the quality of life for its citizens.
The municipalities in the Girona region participating in this digital cohort are: Girona, Bescanó, la Cellera de Ter, Vidreres, Figueres, Blanes, Llançà, Camprodon, Sant Joan de les Abadesses, Porqueres, Banyoles, Olot, Besalú, les Preses, Llívia, Puigcerdà, Santa Cristina d'Aro, and Palamós.
