Startups Connect 2015, the 5th. edition of the local entrepreneurship competition rewarding the best technology ideas, has been celebrated today in Madrid. The event was held on IBM’s Client Centre in Madrid, and the jury chose Made of Genes, the personal genetic services by Genomcore, as the winner. The competition counted with the presence of Marta Martínez, IBM president for Spain, Portugal, Greece and Israel; who announced to the attendees, partner companies, and capital risk companies from all over the world.

Also participating in the event were María Benjumea Spain Sartup and South Summit CEO & Founder; Elisa Martín Garijo IBM Technology Director; Angel Moreu IBM Cloud Director; Verónica Respaldiza IBM Startups Manager; and Sergio Álvarez Leiva CartoDB CPO.

The Company will get IBM expert for its project development, have access to cloud services, and will receive the prize in front of 2000 professionals at IBM most important event in Spain: IBM Business Connect, having place next November 25 at IFEMA Madrid Exhibition.

Is an essential engine at a time in which the future of any company or society will be determined within the collaboration and innovation field.” Added Marta Martinez. “And technology has done a lot for that, since the world is becoming digital. In addition to the new capabilities provided by cloud infrastructures, business analytics, IoT, there’s a new factor: cognitive systems”.

Startups Connect 2015 is an international event that came up from the local call SmartCamp. Its leitmotiv is to help new entrepreneurs benefit from growth sectors such as energy, healthcare, telecommunications, consumer goods or public administration.
